Sage Mandel joined the New York office of Essex Woodlands as an Associate in February 2017. Sage’s responsibilities include identifying and evaluating new investment opportunities across the healthcare sector and working closely with portfolio companies.
Prior to joining Essex Woodlands, Sage began her career as an investment banking analyst in JP Morgan’s healthcare group, where she focused on pharma, biotech and services deals spanning mergers and acquisitions, structured transactions and debt and equity financings. With a strong interest in healthcare, Sage has also worked in science research labs at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, the University of Pennsylvania Department of Biology, and the Stony Brook University Department of Biochemistry.
Sage graduated magna cum laude from the Roy and Diana Vagelos Program in Life Sciences and Management at the University of Pennsylvania, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics with a concentration in Finance at The Wharton School and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology at the College of Arts and Sciences.
